Proctosedyl Ointment contains two active ingredients that work together to reduce swelling and numb pain and itching. It is used for the relief of haemorrhoids(piles), and other painful conditions of the anus such as fissures (tears).

Each 1g of ointment contains 5mg cinchocaine hydrochloride and 5mg hydrocortisone.

Do not use continuously for prolonged periods - duration of treatment should not exceed 3 weeks except on medical advice.
Do not use if hypersensitivity to hydrocortisone or cinchocaine exists.
Do not use in uncontrolled infections or where STD Infections are present.
If anal pain is severe or prolonged or if blood is present in the faeces you should be examined by a doctor.
